Position

The observatory currently has two observing sites. The main site has a Schmidt telescope32/40 cm in diameter positioned in a building affixed in the campaign of Bassano Bresciano and a second station equipped with suburban a Newtonian telescope of 25 cm. in diameter

Position of the observing sites in the area

Site 1

The observatory main site is located in the countryside of Bassano Bresciano in a specially constructed building. On the ground floor there are control equipment of the observatory and the command post, upstairs under a metal dome 5 meters in diameter is the telescope. It is a Schmidt camera with a primary mirror of 40 cm, 32 cm corrector plate, focal length is 1000 mm and focal ratio of 3.3. At the prime focus of the telescope is mounted Starlight HX516 CCD camera with 494 x 658 pixels. This combination allows to obtain ratio pictures 1.552 seconds of arc in pixels and a field of view of about 12 x 17 arcminutes. In good sky conditions you can photograph objects with a magnitude of 17. Performing stack multiple images you can shoot objects with a magnitude of 19.5.
The pointing and tracking of the telescope are controlled by a controller real time. A system of recognition and compensation errors periods of the worm screw allows to contain errors tracking below the pixel. The mechanics of the telescope and control software have been completely manufactured in-house.

Site 2

The observatory second site is located in a private courtyard in Bassano Bresciano structure protected by a self-propelled rail. On the base of the telescope is assembled all the control electronics while in an adjoining room is available for the control computer. It is a Newton telescope with mirrors 25 cm in diameter, focal length is 1250 mm and focal ratio of 5. At the prime focus of the telescope is mounted Starlight MX916 CCD camera with 752 x 580 pixels. This combination allows to obtain ratio pictures 1.755 seconds of arc in pixels and a field of view of about 22 x 16 arcminutes. In good sky conditions you can photograph objects with a magnitude of 16.
The mechanics of the telescope and control software have been completely manufactured in-house.

The workshop

All mechanical parts of the telescopes have been made thanks to a workshop specially prepared. The machine tools are: a lathe, two cutters, a miter saw.
